Of the 10 tons of fibrous malachite that was brought to Tucson for the Gem and Mineral Show we were there to be first to pick this incredible specimen among the average small pieces. Malachite is a copper carbonate which naturally forms in a karst environment and is most recognized as polished pieces in rings and necklaces etc. This type however is reserved for the advanced collector or connoisseur. The chatoyant velvet crystalline lattice reflects light in a wondrous fashion and the vibrant green crystal lined pocket is absolutely captivating and beckons to be explored.
We have never seen or owned a piece of malachite so unique and stunning, until recently.
We were instantly blown away to receive this incredible treasure, and I cannot imagine ever finding another.
