Of the 10 tons of fibrous malachite that was brought to Tucson for the Gem and Mineral Show we were there to be first to pick this incredible specimen among the average small pieces. Malachite is a copper carbonate which naturally forms in a karst environment and is most recognized as polished pieces in rings and necklaces etc. This type however is reserved for the advanced collector or connoisseur. The chatoyant velvet crystalline lattice reflects light in a wondrous fashion and the vibrant green crystal is absolutely captivating.
Malachite is a semi-precious stone with magical properties. Known to coincide with the Heart and Throat Chakras. It is an important protection stone. Due to its electrical charge from copper, it will remove and absorb negative energies.
